FESTIVAL OF PRINT @20 WITH EAST LONDON PRINTMAKERS

Statement published for the displayed ELP Boxset at the Festival of Print at 20:

“This is the 11th edition of the ELP Box Set and is now something of an established tradition. Participating artists each produce an edition of prints which are shared between specially produced boxes. The V&A accepts a set for it's archive and John Purcell, sponsors of the project, is given another. Each artist receives a set, and a further one joins the ELP archive. Extra prints are offered for sale individually at an affordable price, the proceeds going to the studio. The project therefore reflects the collective ethos of ELP, the promotion of print, and public accessibility.”

UAL Olympus UK Photography Award 2018 – Second Edition

6th – 24th February 2018

For the second year running, OLYMPUS and Bermondsey Project Space are thrilled to support UAL’s next generation of art and photography students in the UAL Olympus UK PhotographyAward 2018.

University of the Arts London is in the top 5 universities in the world for art and design. They offer an extensive range of courses in art, design, fashion, communication and performing arts. Their graduates go on to work in and shape creative industries worldwide.

For 2018 the theme of the competition is Photo Evidence: Between (Media) Representation and Reality.

The competition will be articulated in three sections:

  • Print – reflecting on creation and composition of images.

  • Multimedia – using elements of the photographic process as an integral part of a complete work.

  • Projection – creating works that associate photography with video / moving image.

On the opening night, the winner of each category will receive a camera from OLYMPUS.

Update :  Didn't win a camera (entered in the multimedia category), however it's a lovely space with some inspiring pieces around it, so please do go check it out if you're in the area. :)

The exhibition runs 6th – 24th February 2018, Tues-Sat 11.00 – 18.00
